About Improv Dojo - Our Locations - Oakland (San Francisco Bay Area and Bay Area Tokyo

Pan Theater was created by four battle-worn Sensei at a secret meeting in Oakland in February 2002. The aim was to create a place where people could practice and perform the ass-kicking art of improv. 

Over the years, our community has grown into a collective of praise-worthy performers and stage-loving students from eclectic backgrounds. We blend theater games and elements of Meisner Technique together to create confident, fun-loving and risk taking actors.

Improv Dojo's Background

Improv Dojo is part of Pan Theater, the East Bay’s largest improv training group. We’ve been holding classes and events since 2002, and our alumni can be found throughout the Bay Area, in NYC, and in LA.

Pan Theater is located at 120 Frank Ogawa Plaza , Oakland, CA 94612. We offer classes in Oakland and Tokyo (yes, Tokyo - Japan).
